Born in Manhattan in 1973, Chris Riggs studied painting and political science at City College and Columbia University. He began graffiti at age 11, painting murals in abandoned buildings and train tunnels in NYC, and by 17 had traded spray cans for a paintbrush. Celebrated for his chromatic graffiti work exploring themes of positivity, unity, and politics, he draws on NYC street art aesthetics and the “flower power” movement to promote love, peace, and coexistence. His influences include Keith Haring, Basquiat, Pollock, and Warhol, and his work is collected in over 50 countries.
