A truly impressive and rare antique pine dresser of exceptional scale — measuring a commanding 98 inches wide and standing 87 inches tall, this is a statement piece in every sense. Two-part in construction, the upper rack section features three generous open shelves backed by original tongue-and-groove pine boarding, the whole crowned by a substantial stepped and reeded cornice moulding of real architectural quality. The cornice detail shot reveals the depth and craftsmanship of the moulding — multi-layered, crisply cut, and every bit as handsome up close as it is from across a room.

The lower section — a long, open dresser base — provides an expansive work surface running the full width of the piece, below which sit three drawers fitted once with simple turned wooden knobs (now not present) and retaining their original hand-cut joinery. The base is raised on squared legs with a neat bracket detail at the inner corners, giving the whole piece a grounded, architectural presence without being heavy-handed.

The shelves themselves retain a warmer, darker tone from years of use — a beautiful contrast against the paler, stripped pine of the back boards and structure — while the tongue-and-groove back panelling adds wonderful texture and depth to the rack.
